The Essentials!

Yay, you’re headed on a trip. No matter where you are going or what you’ll be doing, these are a few items to keep your suitcase somewhat organized and easier to pack everything in. With every trip I research different items that are a must! Here’s what I found and recommend to make your trip even better for every type of trip. The essentials. For more specific recommendations by type of trip, entertaining your kid while traveling, etc. please reference my other blogs.

Packing Cubes: I didn’t use these initially but finally stumbled upon them and will never travel without packing cubes again. I’ve now bought a different color for my husband and kid; each with a different color. It is a great way to organize your clothes and items you’re packing. I pack all of my son’s pj’s in one cube… especially if we are getting in later. I know exactly which cube I want and have everything I need all together. Makes it easy to pack up and use. This also includes a laundry bag to keep those dirty clothes separate from everything else.

Luggage Scale: I know this seems crazy, but it is sooo helpful. At a minimum, you should weigh your suitcase before you head to the airport. You’ll hate showing up to the airport and having to rearrange items or paying the extra fee when you could have checked it ahead of time. Cheap easy to use luggage scale. Some people also take it on their trip; I do not, but have an idea of how much I can add before exceeding. However, if I plan on bringing home a lot of souvenirs, I would bring this handy scale.

Cord Carrier Case: With all the different electronics and each one a differ cord, it’s hard to stay organized. I had to upgrade this year to a larger electronic carrier so I can hold my kid’s cords as well as my own so we can all enjoy our electronics. Here’s what I found that works really well. If you’re looking for something smaller, I recommend this carrier.

Portable Travel Charger:

Jewelry Organizer: Here’s a couple different options depending on your trip.

Dry Shampoo: I’ve struggled finding a dry shampoo that works for my hair. I finally found this brand at Sephora and love it. So thankful it comes in travel size, too!

Liquids carry on holder:

The perfect purse. This is my number one travel purse (especially when traveling oversees)! It is cross body, extra safety locks (security hooks) and of course anti-theft to protect you. Added bonus, pacsafe has a slash proof shoulder strap. It’s lightweight, lots of room to hold onto your water bottle and jacket. So many pockets to store all the things! I’m also a big advocate of being safe, but as cute as possible. We all know we’ll be taking lots of photos!

Shoes! Of course you’ll be taking a ton of photos and want to look somewhat cute, but who can sacrifice your feet when you’re walking all day. Well here are some super cute sandals that I’ve walked in for days throughout Europe and didn’t have an issue. Love, love them! And they come in multiple styles and colors!
